Update: The WD_BLACK C50 Expansion Card for Xbox is available now in local stores, starting with JB Hi-Fi as well as Amazon via international delivery.
The 1TB Expansion Card retails for $289, which is a match for the Seagate alternative (depending on where you shop) even after Seagate has been reducing the prices on their previously-exclusive expansion card since it launched.

Original Story: Xbox Series X|S owners finally have at least one alternative option when it comes to expanding the high-speed storage on their consoles, with WD officially joining the fray with its new WD_BLACK C50 Expansion Card for Xbox – confirming a leak from back in April.
The new card comes in a 500GB or 1TB capacity, and retails for $79.99 USD (approximately $120 AUD) or $289 AUD, respectively. With the previously-exclusive Seagate option becoming much cheaper recently, it looks like the introduction of new options is finally driving the exorbitant prices of added Xbox Series X|S storage down.
These drives have launched in the US and UK but don’t seem to have any local availability yet, but we’ll certainly be keeping an eye on it,

Those interested in picking up extra storage for their console now can grab the 1TB Seagate Expansion Card for Xbox for around $250 on Amazon, which is still a lot better of a deal than the launch pricing.
By comparison, storage prices for PlayStation 5 owners are coming down every day thanks to the PS5’s non-proprietary M.2 SSD slot, which lets users buy any compatible Gen 4 NVMe that has an appropriate heatsink and slot it into the console’s internals.
Right now, the PS5-compatible Samsung 980 Pro SSD is going for only $250 for a 2TB capacity.
