It’s time for another one of Geoff Keighley’s streams, with Gamescom’s Opening Night Live set to kick off live in Cologne, Germany and be beamed across the globe as it happens. Unfortunately for the Aussie audience it’s taking place at 4AM AEST, which is extremely early (or late if you’re brave) but we’ll be up and will have a roundup when you wake up in the morning.
WHEN IS GAMESCOM OPENING NIGHT LIVE IN AUSTRALIAN TIME?
Gamescom Opening Night Live is taking place on Wednesday, August 23rd at 4AM AEST. Here’s how that shakes out around the nation:
- 4.00 AM AEST (Melbourne/Sydney/Hobart/Canberra/Brisbane)
- 3.30 AM ACST (Adelaide, Darwin)
- 2.00 AM AWST (Perth)
- 6.00 AM NZDT (Wellington)

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM GAMESCOM OPENING NIGHT LIVE
We don’t yet know how long this year’s Opening Night Live showcase is expected to run for, but we do already know that it’ll feature new looks at both Alan Wake 2 and Black Myth: Wukong. We’d also expect to see games that will be on the show floor at Gamescom like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, Sonic Superstars, Like a Dragon Gaiden and maybe even a Nintendo title or two?
